Coastline Lights
Planning tool

Roofline bulb estimator.

Enter a rough linear footage for your roofline and see an estimated bulb count at our standard 15-inch spacing.

This is a planning estimate to help you think about scope — not a measurement, a quote, or a bid. It runs the same arithmetic you could do yourself with a calculator; we just do it for you.

No tape measure handy? Pacing off the perimeter in your own steps is fine — this only needs to be a reasonable estimate, not an exact measurement.

How this is calculated

Our default installation uses warm white C9 bulbs spaced 15 inches apart. To go from a length to a bulb count, we convert your footage to inches and divide by that spacing — nothing more:

bulbs ≈ (linear feet × 12) ÷ 15

That's the entire formula. It doesn't account for corners, architectural detail, or coverage choices specific to your home, because we don't have that information yet — it's meant to help you think about scope, not to replace a design.
