Privacy Policy
What this website collects, what it doesn't, and how to reach us about your information.
Draft — pending attorney review
This page is a working draft prepared for legal review. It is not legal advice, and it has not yet been reviewed or approved by an attorney. Wherever you see a bracketed note like [LEGAL ENTITY NAME — PENDING], that detail is a known placeholder, not a finished answer. Please don't treat this page as a final, binding policy until that review is complete.

The short version
- We don't use cookies, analytics, or advertising trackers on this website, and this site doesn't send any request to Google Fonts or any other third-party font service — our two fonts are hosted locally, as files that are part of the site itself.
- Our quote request form isn't connected to anything yet. As of this writing, it does not collect, store, or transmit any information — there's simply nowhere for it to send data yet.
- Once the form is connected, whatever you submit will go only to our own email inbox and phone — never to a third party, a data broker, a CRM, or an advertising network.
- We do not sell personal information, and we never will.
Who we are
Coastline Lights provides Christmas light installation, bistro and string lighting, and commercial lighting installation in Orange County and Los Angeles County, California. This website is operated by [LEGAL ENTITY NAME — PENDING], [MAILING ADDRESS — PENDING, IF APPLICABLE]. In this policy, "we," "us," and "Coastline Lights" refer to that business.
Information we collect
Automatically, from your browser
Currently, none. This website does not set cookies of any kind — no session cookie, no tracking cookie. It does not use an analytics tool. It does not load third-party trackers, advertising pixels, or embedded third-party scripts. Our two typefaces (Fraunces and Source Sans 3) are self-hosted as local files, so simply loading a page on this site does not send a request to Google Fonts or any other font provider — a common source of data sharing on other websites that does not happen here.
Any web host inherently processes basic technical connection information (such as IP address and request logs) to deliver a website — this is true of essentially every site on the internet. We have not yet finalized who hosts this website. We do not use that kind of data for anything beyond operating the site, and we will name our host here once that decision is final.
Through the quote request form
The consultation/quote request form on this site asks for: your name, one contact method (phone or email), your property address, your approximate home size, your preferred timeline, and anything else you'd like to tell us, optionally.
Current status: this form is not yet connected to anything that can receive a submission. As built today, it collects nothing, because there is nowhere for the information to go. If you want to reach us today, please call or email us directly using the details at the bottom of this page.
Once the form is connected — a planned next step, not yet done — information submitted through it will be sent only to our own email inbox and by text message to our own phone, so we can respond to your enquiry and prepare a lighting design and quote for your property. We do not plan to use a customer-relationship management (CRM) platform, marketing platform, or third-party data processor for these submissions. We do not sell this information, and we do not share it with data brokers or advertisers. If that ever changes — for example, if we adopt a CRM or a third-party form-processing service — we will name that service here and describe what it does with your information before it goes live.
How we use information
The only use we make of anything submitted through this website is responding to your enquiry: preparing a lighting design, putting together a quote, scheduling a consultation, and communicating with you about the project you asked about. We do not use it to build an advertising profile, and we do not use it to send marketing to people who haven't asked to hear from us.
How we share information
We do not sell personal information. We do not share personal information with third parties for advertising purposes, including what California law calls "cross-context behavioral advertising." We don't use a data broker. The only people who see a form submission are the people who run Coastline Lights, for the purpose of getting back to you.
Cookies, analytics, and tracking
To restate this plainly, because it's easy for a privacy policy to bury the important part: this website currently sets no cookies, runs no analytics software, and loads no third-party tracking scripts or advertising pixels of any kind. If that ever changes — for example, if we add an analytics tool — we will update this policy first, and we will follow whatever legal notice or consent requirement applies at that time.
Data retention
Because the quote request form does not currently transmit or store any information, there is nothing to retain today. [DATA RETENTION PERIOD — PENDING: a specific retention schedule for form submissions will be defined and published here before the form is connected and begins accepting real submissions.]
Children's privacy
This website is intended for adults arranging lighting services for their property. It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Your privacy rights (California)
Because Coastline Lights serves California residents, this section describes rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA). Those laws establish — and we intend to honor as a matter of policy, regardless of whether our business size meets every threshold that makes the statute mandatory — the following:
- Right to know — what personal information we've collected about you, and why.
- Right to delete — ask us to delete personal information we've collected from you.
- Right to correct — ask us to correct inaccurate personal information.
- Right to opt out — of the sale or sharing of personal information. We don't sell or share information, so there is currently nothing to opt out of — but you're welcome to ask.
- Right to limit use of sensitive personal information — we don't collect sensitive personal information (such as Social Security numbers, financial account details, precise geolocation, or health or biometric data) through this website in the first place.
- Right to non-discrimination — we will not deny service, charge you a different price, or provide a different level of service because you exercised any of these rights.
To ask about any of these rights, contact us at hello@coastlinelights.com. This section describes our intended practice and the rights California law establishes; it is a draft pending attorney review, and nothing here should be read as a certification of legal compliance.
Security
We take reasonable measures to protect information in our care. No method of transmission over the internet, or method of electronic storage, is perfectly secure, and we can't guarantee absolute security.
Third-party links
This website links to our Instagram profile. We don't control, and aren't responsible for, the privacy practices of Instagram or any other third-party site we link to. Their own privacy policies govern your use of their platforms.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as our practices change — for instance, once our website host and form backend are finalized. When we do, we'll update the "last updated" date at the top of this page.
