Christmas light installation in Palos Verdes Estates.

The Olmsted firm planned Palos Verdes Estates down to the curve of the roads — we hold our own roofline plans to a similar level of intention, then install, maintain, remove and store your lighting until next season.

Palos Verdes Estates, your streets were drawn by the family that drew Central Park, and you've kept an actual Art Jury reviewing what gets built here since the 1920s. A century of design review has given this town opinions, and we'd be disappointed if it hadn't. Our Christmas light installation in Palos Verdes Estates is built to survive the deliberation: warm white C9 composed to the architecture, hung level, and edited like the Jury might stroll by.

Send the address — Malaga Cove to Lunada Bay — and we'll draw the design.

Working a city that reviews everything.

A planned city rewards planned work. Seasonal lighting doesn't go before the Art Jury, but the sensibility it enforces is exactly the one we design to — coherent, restrained, faithful to the building — because in this town a garish install would be noticed the way a flamingo would be noticed at Malaga Cove Plaza. Practically: the older Mediterranean stock means clip-mounted, penetration-free runs on tile and vintage eaves; the parkland streets Olmsted drew mean crews stage in driveways and keep the winding lanes clear; and coastal-facing elevations above Bluff Cove and Lunada Bay get fittings rated for salt and wind, because the Pacific submits its own review nightly. One more Olmsted inheritance shapes the work: the mature trees the plan wove between street and house mean sightlines and ladder positions get walked during the facade review, so the drawing accounts for every branch before install morning does.

Four neighborhoods, one standard.

Each of the original four reads differently in December. Malaga Cove's Spanish Revival homes, gathered near the Plaza and its Neptune fountain, carry red tile and arched loggias — C9 traces the eave and lets the architecture keep top billing. Valmonte's tree-lined lanes hold traditionals and ranches where a single warm line is the whole, correct sentence. Montemalaga climbs to wide view lots and long horizontals that punish a sag from three streets below. And Lunada Bay pairs bluff-top customs with an ocean horizon, where the composition has to hold from the street and from the cliff path both.

Christmas light installers who bring one plan to all four are ignoring a hundred years of deliberate difference. We measure the specific facade, draw the run, and cut commercial-grade wire to the drawing — the full logic is in our guide to C9 bulbs and roofline design, which reads like it was written with this peninsula in mind.

Composed, maintained, retired on schedule.

The seasonal program handles the whole arc: design from your address, one scheduled install day, dusk timers, and professional Christmas lights kept professional — maintenance is included, so a dark stretch gets corrected before the neighbors can form a committee about it. January takedown releases every clip clean; materials get coiled, labeled, and stored at our facility until next season.

Questions

Palos Verdes Estates, reviewed.

Will the install damage our tile or older eaves?

No — clip-based mounting only, no penetrations, no residue, full reversibility. Homes from the city's first decades get treated like the originals they are.

Does holiday lighting need Art Jury approval?

Temporary seasonal lighting isn't a construction project, so no — but we design as if it were reviewed, which is why our installs look at home on streets the Olmsteds drew.

Our house faces the water — different considerations?

Two: exposure and audience. Salt-and-wind-rated fittings handle the first; designing the ocean-facing elevation as carefully as the street side handles the second.

When should we book?

Fall consultations take the best install dates, and tile-heavy facades benefit from unhurried scheduling. Earlier is simply better here.
